Author Registration Policy

The author registration deadline is September 8, 2022. All authors, from all tracks of the conference (including workshops), must have registered by this deadline. Papers must be covered by an author registration in order to be included in the conference proceedings (ACM Digital Library).

Each paper at the conference must be covered by at least one author registration according to the following rules:

  • – One Full registration (non-student) covers only: one Full or one BNI or one Industry or one Grand Challenge or one Interactive Arts paper;
  • – One Full registration (non-student) covers two of the following papers: Demo, Doctoral Symposium, Open-source paper or Workshop paper;
  • – One Student registration covers: one Demo or one Doctoral Symposium or one Open-source paper or Workshop Paper;
  • – Conference volunteers are entitled to one student registration. See the call for volunteers and the SIGMM travel grants;
  • – One 1-day-workshop registration (student or full) covers one Workshop paper;

Note that the Remote Attendance registration type cannot be used for an author registration, meaning that it does not cover a paper (regardless of the paper type). It covers full access to the virtual part of the conference.

Tickets for Meals and Social Events

To better estimate the number of physical attendees and reduce food waste, it is important that we have an exact headcount for all meals and social events. For this reason, we require that you commit yourself in advance to each individual event at which food and drink are served, i.e., the opening reception, the lunch for each individual day of the conference, and the banquet. To express this commitment we charge you a nominal fee of 5 Euros for a ticket for each event and 50 euros for the banquet.

Full registrations are eligible to purchase the following:

  • – 1 lunch ticket for each conference day (5 Euros a piece)
  • – 1 ticket for the opening reception Monday, October 10th, (5 Euros)
  • – 1 ticket for the banquet on Wednesday, October 12th (50 Euros)
  • – Optionally 1 ticket for an accompanying person at the opening reception on Monday, October 10th (5 Euros)
  • – Optionally 1 ticket for an accompanying person at the banquet Wednesday, October 12th (75 Euros)

Workshop day registrations are eligible to purchase the following:

  • – 1 lunch ticket (5 Euros)
  • – 1 ticket for the opening reception Monday, October 10 (5 Euros)

Please select and purchase meal and social event ticket(s) according to these specifications.

Note that it is not possible to cancel a registration if the cancellation would leave a paper in the proceedings uncovered by an author registration (see the rules on author registration). After 5 September 2022, no refunds will be made.
