ACM Multimedia 2022 is a hybrid event, which brings an additional layer of complexity with both on-site and remote presentations.

Paper Presentations

[On-site Presentations Setup] In all Auditoriums and Room 1.07-Pav4, there will be a local computer hosting the Zoom session. This covers all Keynote, Panel, Best-paper, Technical Award, Rising Star Award, Oral, Brave New Ideas, Doctoral Symposium, Grand-Challenge, Industry, and Open-source sessions.

Tutorials rooms will also have a local computer hosting the Zoom session. For Workshop sessions, each Workshop organizer will host the corresponding Zoom session on their laptop. Instructions will follow in a separate email.

[On-site Presentations] If you are an author that will deliver a presentation on-site, then you should:

  1. 1. Bring your laptop, with your presentation and Zoom installed;
  2. 2. Connect your laptop to the room projector. This requires an HDMI port. If your laptop does not have an HDMI port, try to bring an adapter;
  3. 3. Join the corresponding Zoom session. The Zoom link is in Whova’s Agenda, associated with the corresponding session;
  4. 4. Share your presentation screen in Zoom;
  5. 5. Turn on your camera and unmute yourself, so that participants can see and hear you.

Each session will have a Session chair that will be responsible for coordinating the session. Before the session starts, please let the session chair know that you are there.

Both the session chair and the session volunteers will be there to help you resolve any technical issues. If you need help, just talk to them. You can easily spot them by their blue t-shirts 🙂

[Virtual Presentations and Best Paper session] For Remote Presenters the chair will play the uploaded video. Presenters should answer questions in the end. Presenters should be prepared to do a live presentation in Zoom in case there are technical  difficulties with the pre-recorded video. For the best-paper session, remote authors will present their work live, through Zoom, and no pre-recorded video will be used.

This means that you should follow the instructions bellow, regarding Zoom:

  1. 1. Join the Zoom session in Whova Porta before the start of the session;
  2. 2. Locate and talk with the session chair and check if everything is ok.
  3. 3. (only for best paper session) Share your presentation screen in Zoom when it’s your turn.
  4. 4. Turn on your camera and microphone for the 3 minute Q&A.

[Workshop Authors] Each Workshop may have a slightly different setup and instructions. You should have already received detailed instructions from your Workshop organizers. If you have any questions, you should contact them directly.

[All Authors] Please refer to the detailed Program to find your session and presentation slot: Whova’s Agenda or https://2022.acmmm.org/program/.

For other details such as the presentation duration, please refer to the Authors’ Instructions: https://2022.acmmm.org/author-instructions/.

Poster Presentations

[On-Site Poster Presentations] Poster will be hung on the hall of pavilion 4. There, you will find the poster board map, which you should check to identify the poster stand assigned to your paper ID. We suggest that you hang your paper early in the morning. Just ask the volunteers for poster sticks.

You should be next to your poster in your corresponding session. Please refer to the Program to know when your poster session is scheduled.

[Gather Town – Virtual Posters] Each day, there will be a live poster session on Gather Town, for remote authors. Please refer to https://2022.acmmm.org/gathertown for detailed instructions on how to present your live poster.

We ask you to join the Gather Town link 15 minutes before the session starts, for troubleshooting.

The Gather Town sessions links will be available on Whova, on the corresponding sessions. You will receive them by email, along with the session password.

We strongly recommend that you familiarize yourself with Gather Town (it should be intuitive for you). You can learn about the basics here.

[ePosters Interactive Screens] – On the Pavilion 4 hall, there will be several ePosters screens with all the posters submitted to Whova. You can interact with these screens to see all posters, including posters of both on-site and remote authors.
